IT ALL STARTED WITH HOT YOGA
An addiction to the practice
We were drawn to the mat for the physical experience, to move, to breathe and to sweat, and we discovered it’s about more than just the asanas (poses) – it’s key to living a mindful and fulfilling life.
WHAT WE DO
Our classes
Hot Yoga is the foundation for Yoga Spot Fairfield’s variety of classes. Our studio features infrared heating panels which help to warm your muscles, prevent injuries, and might allow your body to go deeper into certain poses. Our Hot Yoga and Hot Mat Pilates classes are run at 34 degrees. Come prepared to sweat! Our Flow classes are run in a moderately heated room (28 degrees). You’ll build extra heat of your own in this fast-moving, fluid practice. Our Yin Yoga classes are kept warm in winter and cool in summer. Our Slow Flow and Beginners classes are non-heated, run at a comfortable room temperature.
WHERE WE DO IT
Our studio
Yoga Spot Fairfield welcomes yogis of all ages, shapes and sizes, and we offer modern, clean and user-friendly facilities. We have showers and changing rooms, including ambulant toilets. Mat and towel hire is available although we encourage you to bring your own. We also sell some of our favourite yoga props, like mats, bolsters and blocks. You can top up your water bottle or make a herbal tea in our kitchen.
WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO US
Our values
Authenticity
We keep it real. We share ancient teachings in a relatable way, our teachers are eternal students, and we always strive to speak our truth. We hold space for you to show up exactly as you are.
Community
We’re more than just a business – we’re a community. Our people (team and students) are at the heart of everything we do. We move, breathe, learn and grow together and actively seek out ways to contribute to the broader community of which we are a part.
Connection
We strive to be inclusive, kind, connected and present in our actions and in our language. We use mindful movement to attune the mind-body connection, and continually seek deeper relationships with self and others through the practices and traditions of yoga.
Integrity
We do things our way, but always with integrity. Our suppliers and collaborators share our ethos of local, sustainable and people-first. A deep sense of gratitude is embedded in every interaction and we live the teachings of yoga both on and off the mat.
INTRODUCING
Our founder
Megan Gamble
What does yoga mean to you? Yoga is a way of life. It offers a system and traditions that we can use to navigate life, to become better people, and to get closer to our true selves. It often starts out as a physical practice, and then we start to uncover the deeper layers.
Describe your teaching style in three words… Accessible, nurturing, real.
Major influences on your teaching? I am blessed to have wonderful teachers and mentors on this journey. My core training is in Vinyasa, but I bring what I know from Yin Yoga into every class. Yin training changed my world.
Favourite asana to teach? I’ve always loved Warrior 3. It requires strength and balance in equal parts, and there are so many ways to explore the pose. Away from the mat, we’ll find you…hanging out with my two littles, drinking coffee, at the football or chasing down some sunshine in nature.
